How to Set Up the Follow on Instagram Reward Program

The Follow on Instagram program allows you to reward customers with store credit when they follow your Instagram account. This is a simple way to encourage customers to connect with your brand on social media while giving them an incentive to engage with your store.

Before You Start

To issue rewards through the Follow on Instagram program, make sure Store Credit is enabled in your customer account settings.

Set Up a Follow on Instagram Reward

To configure the Follow on Instagram reward:

1. From your Shopify admin, open Loyup.
2. Select Loyalty Programs.
3. Under Social activity, find Follow on Instagram.
4. Click Customize.

You’ll see the Follow on Instagram settings page, where you can configure the reward details.

1. Set the Reward Value

In the Reward value field, enter the amount of store credit you want to give customers when they follow your Instagram account.

For example, if you enter $1, customers will receive $1 USD in store credit for following your Instagram account.

2. Set Store Credit Expiration

You can choose how long the Instagram reward remains available to customers.

• Never expires — The store credit remains available without an expiration date.
• Expires after a set period — The store credit expires after the period you specify.

Choose the option that best fits your loyalty program.

3. Add Your Instagram Username

In the Your Instagram username field, enter the username of your Instagram account.

For example:

@your_username

This username is used to redirect customers to your Instagram profile when they access the Follow on Instagram activity.

Make sure you enter the correct Instagram username so customers are directed to your official account.

4. Add a Transaction Note

You can optionally add a Transaction note to describe the reward.

For example:

This note can help you identify why the store credit was issued.

Activate the Loyalty Widget

After setting up the Follow on Instagram reward, you need to activate the Widget launcher so customers can easily access your loyalty program and discover the Instagram activity from your storefront.

To activate the widget:

1. Open Loyup.
2. Select Customization.
3. Under Storefront, find Widget launcher.
4. Click Customize.
5. Activate the widget to display it on your storefront.

Once activated, the widget will appear on your store and give customers quick access to your loyalty program. Customers can use the widget to register for the loyalty program, view their rewards, and access available loyalty activities, including the Follow on Instagram reward.

Note: Make sure the widget is activated if you want customers to easily discover and access the Instagram reward from your storefront.

Important Notes

• Customers must have a customer account to receive the Instagram follow reward.
• Store Credit must be enabled in your customer account settings before rewards can be issued.
• The Follow on Instagram reward is limited to once per customer.
• You can choose whether store credit expires or never expires.
• Make sure your Instagram username is entered correctly so customers are redirected to the correct account.
• You can add an optional Transaction note to help identify the reward.
• The Widget launcher should be activated so customers can easily access your loyalty program and discover the Instagram activity from your storefront.
